Underground Railroad School Tour

Thank you, Conneaut Lake Middle School! Yesterday we welcomed 64 students from Conneaut Lake School District and 6 teachers who had prepared their students to discuss slavery in the US, the triggers that started the Civil War and the important contributions made by Western Pennsylvania families who helped runaway slaves escape to Canada after 1850. The Underground Railroad School Tours are held Thursdays and Fridays during the school year. The Gibson House Manor is a national landmark that was designed and built as an Underground Railroad safe house in 1856. It’s one of the few safe houses open to the public and available for individual and group tours. We also are open every Saturday and some Sundays 12 months per year for Underground Railroad tours of Gibson House Manor in Jamestown, PA. Open and operating as a historic visitors and event center since January 2023, Gibson House Manor gave UGRR tours to more than 2000 visitors since we opened last year. We are hosting more than 100 events at the Manor in 2024! For more information and a full calendar of events, call or text the Manor at 724.456.4983
