Just when we hit the final week of the Christmas holiday, we start getting questions about next year….so for those of you who love going for a drive on a winter Saturday, here are the highlights of our upcoming events for January and February 2025:
January 3 and 4th: We still have our Victorian Christmas decorations from 11 countries throughout the Manor with tours from 5-7 pm on Friday and Saturday evening. If you were too busy to come visit us during the holidays, please consider a stop before we take these lovely decorations down and put everything away. Our Historic Education Committee did an incredible job researching the traditions, getting feedback from area organizations and corporations and putting together a spectacular tour of the 14 areas of the Manor decorated for Christmas. We intend to do additional countries next year so if you have suggestions, please give them to one of our tour guides when you are here or send your ideas to Kathy at our Reservation line (724.456.4983) or gibsonhousemanor@allfacilities.com
January 11th (Saturday): we officially return with our Saturday morning breakfasts starting at 9 am. Fresh made breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast with bacon or sausage, hash brown muffins Fresh fruit and donuts. To kick off the new year we are also hosting our Underground Railroad Mystery Tours (9:15 am, 10:15 am, 11:15 am, 12:15 pm and 1:15 pm) that include breakfast or lunch. Today we also have Jared McGary, the environmental education specialist of Pymatuning State Park, giving a workshop on the “History of Pymatuning Lake” at 9:30 am.
January 18th (Saturday): Breakfast, Lunch and Underground Railroad Mystery Tours today
January 25th (Saturday): Breakfast, Lunch and Underground Railroad Mystery Tours today (private group tours also available during the month of January. Just call or text Kathy at our Reservation line to make special arrangements.
February 1st (Saturday): Breakfast, Lunch and Underground Railroad Mystery Tours (private group tours also available).
February 8th (Saturday): Breakfast, Lunch and UGRR Mystery Tours. Anyone doing the Polar Plunge at the State Park can bring their wet towel and get a free lunch! We bow to your bravery!
February 15th (Saturday): All day events and Breakfast, Lunch, UGRR Mystery Tours and Valentine’s Dinner*. Please note this is our first Italian Night and first International dinner of the year. Our goal is to offer a four course International dinner at least once per month with authentic recipes from that country, a special chef for the evening and music from that country. We are working on the series now and have been getting good feedback from donors, members and guests. So far we know we will have an Irish Night, British Night, French Night, German Night, Scottish Night, Italian Night (February 2025), Japanese Night and Yugoslavian Night. We are debating between Saturday evenings and Thursday evenings. All the food will be locally sourced and we will entertain local chefs to help us with recipes and preparation. All dinners will pair with wines/champagnes from Gatehouse Winery. Reservations will be required. Including wine, tickets will be $38 each ($27 for dinner). We will be limiting the reservations to 50 people for the night. 724.456.4983.
February 22nd (Saturday): Breakfast, Lunch and Underground Railroad Mystery Tours (private group tours also available).
Just a note that the Manor can be open any day of the week for private tours, private events, private meetings and can accommodate 10, 20, 30 and up to 100 people for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea/lunch and dinner with 72 hours advance notice.
