Celebrate the Holidays with Us at the Manor

As the holiday season approaches, we’re excited to share all that we have in store to make this time special for our community. Whether you’re drawn by history, the spirit of giving, or simply want to immerse yourself in the festive charm of the season, we’ve crafted a calendar of unique events that will bring the Manor to life. Below, you’ll find a summary of our upcoming festivities – from mystery tours and decorating days to Victorian Christmas tours, a gingerbread house contest, and much more. You can also download our full events calendar.

Underground Railroad Mystery Tours – October 26 through mid-November

Step back in time with our Underground Railroad Mystery Tours, running five times daily from October 26 until the weekend before Thanksgiving. Discover the brave stories of those who sought freedom and learn about the Manor’s role in this compelling chapter of history. It’s an unforgettable experience for both history enthusiasts and curious guests of all ages.

Help Decorate the Manor for Christmas

This November, we’re calling on volunteers to help transform the Manor into a festive wonderland! If you have a few hours to spare one afternoon or evening, we’d love to have you join our decorating committee. To sign up, please reach out to Kathy at our Reservation Line by calling or texting 724.456.4983.

Christmas Carols & Gingerbread house workshop – November 30 from 1-4 p.m.

Kick off the holiday season with some creativity at our 2nd Annual Gingerbread House-Making contest! We’ll provide all the candy, graham crackers, royal icing, and other “building materials” you’ll need, along with soup and sandwiches to fuel your creativity. At the end of the day, we’ll hold judging and prizes, and you’re welcome to leave your masterpiece on display for visitors throughout the holiday season.

Victorian Christmas Around the World – Starting November 30

After the elves have finished decking the halls, join us for the first of six evenings of enchanting Christmas tours, beginning on Thanksgiving Weekend. This year’s theme is “Victorian Christmas Around the World,” where each of our 14 rooms and 67 Christmas trees will represent the traditions of a different country – from England and France to Russia and Scandinavia. Abby Evans, our new history intern, has been hard at work researching the unique customs of each country, and she’s eager to share them with you during these special tours.

The first self-guided tour is Saturday, November 30, from 4 to 6 pm. The Manor will also be open on December 6, 7, and 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. for self-guided tours.

$10 Adult; $8 Students, military and seniors; $5 children under 8, children four and under are free. Reservations requested.

Christmas Gala – December 21

This year’s gala will feature musical soloists performing seasonal songs from around the world, along with delicious food, festive drinks, and delightful company. It’s a wonderful way to close out the holiday season with old friends and new. Tickets are $45 and reservations are required.

British High Tea – December 27

Indulge in an elegant British High Tea on December 27, with seatings at 2:30 and 5:30 pm. Our inaugural event last year was a sell-out, so be sure to book your reservations early. Tickets start at $30.

Final Christmas Tours – January 3 & 4

If your holiday season has been too hectic to make it to the Manor, don’t worry! Our final Christmas tours on January 3rd & 4th will offer you a last opportunity to experience the magic before we say farewell to the decorations until next year.

We’re grateful to the organizations that have booked their private holiday events with us this season. We have no public events the weekend of December 13-15 as we’ll be hosting these special gatherings. If you’re interested in reserving for 2025, please contact Kathy at 724.456.4983.

We look forward to welcoming each and every one of you this season. Your support helps us continue our mission of historical education and preservation. We can’t wait to make memories with you at the Manor!
