Exciting news! Starting on May 1, Walberg Family Pharmacies are selling discount Underground Railroad Luncheon and Tour Tickets at six of their locations! Jamestown, Greenville, Reynolds, Linesville, Mercer PA, and Andover, OH.
After purchase, call the Reservation Line at 724.456.4983 to give us your arrival date so we have adequate food and tour guides for the tour.
May 4 and 5: Spring Plant Sale, Outdoor Gardening, and Home Decorating Event from 12-4 p.m.
Thinking about warmer weather and cultivating a flourishing garden? Stop by our plant sale at the Carriage House (in rear of the Manor building) to shop plants, pottery, and woodworking plus a basket raffle! No reservations required, open to the public.
May 4 and 5: Run for the Roses Spring Tea Fundraiser at 1 pm.
A Manor Tradition in its 15th year! This year we are celebrating the Kentucky Derby (hats not required). Full luncheon including lunch, beverages and dessert. Tickets are $30, advance reservations required.
May 11: Underground RR Tour 11:30 am -1:30 pm
This is a special tour that incorporates 12 documented quilting symbols used by slaves and UGRR “conductors” to help slaves time their escape, find their way, and find refuge on their way to freedom. Tickets are $24 per person (upgrade to a deluxe ticket for $32), advance reservations required.
May 11: Join us for a pop-up breakfast including pastries, donuts, breakfast sandwiches, hash browns, avocado toast on multi-grain bread and more. All breakfast foods served a la carte.
Today we celebrate the life of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) for her lifetime commitment to nursing and her influence over change in medical care that reduced the death rate of soldiers from the Crimean War by 66% due to improving cleanliness and sanitation of soldier care, washing all dressings on wounds daily and improving what soldiers ate and exposure to fresh air and sun while hospitalized. Though born in Florence, Italy, she lived and worked throughout Europe and was a contemporary of Dr. Gibson, Mark Twain, Abraham Lincoln, Harriet Tubman and Ulysses S Grant. Free Birthday Cake today, Saturday May 11th in Florence’s honor!

May 12: Mother’s Day Afternoon Lunch Buffet from 1 – 4 pm
Enjoy a beautiful day with loved ones. Menu includes eggs benedict, bacon and sausage, hot roast beef and hot turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, spring mix side salad, fresh fruit, veggie lasagna, steamed peas, macaroni and cheese, cold sandwiches including cucumber, egg salad and coronation chicken salad, sweet tea cakes, and scones with clotted cream and Walking Historic Tour of the Manor. $24 (upgrade to deluxe for $32), advance reservations required.
